Our Mission: To support the Education and Well-being of children and their families in our community.

STCF & SFI are committed to supporting the efforts of the Morrell Family Foundation (MFF).

MFF celebrated 22 years with the close of our fiscal year in June 2024. During this time, the foundation has contributed over $ 465,000 to local organizations in the community.

The Tinner’s Open, our annual golf tournament to support the MFF, has raised $47,060 in 10 years. 

Families in the community found it difficult to provide the required school supplies for their children, so for 9 years, 2013-2021, we purchased over 360 backpacks filled with school supplies for grades Pre-K through 2nd grade at J. Sloat Fassett School. In 2022, we extended the program to the 3 other elementary schools in the Elmira district, and while the district provided some of the supplies needed, we re-focused our efforts on the additional needs of the school and its staff. We bought supplies such as: Clorox wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer/wipes, hand soap, Ziploc bags, white board markers, and classroom snacks. In 2022, we assisted Fassett school with a book purchase, over 1,200 books were purchased for students to take home in June and enjoy.

For 18 years, the foundation provided gift bags of warm clothing and Christmas gifts to families in our community. In 2021, we shifted our focus to donating to organizations meeting these objectives—such as Artic League, Glove House, Tanglewood, Catholic Charities and Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
