Investing Locally to Impact Globally
Southertier Custom Fabricators (STCF) is proud to partner with various organizations in our local community that align with our values and vision. We recognize the impact that local organizations can have on a greater scale and are dedicated to supporting those goals.
The Morrell Family Foundation
The family-owned leadership team of STCF formed the Morrell Family Foundation after the events of Sept. 11th, 2001, with a mission to support the education and well-being of children and their families in our community.
Since its start, the Morrell Family Foundation has contributed over $478,000 to local organizations in the community. The Tinner’s Open, our annual golf tournament fundraiser, has raised $47,060 in 10 years. The Morrell Family Foundation has partnered with elementary schools in the Elmira district to provide essential school supplies for students and teachers, provided clothing and Christmas gifts to local families in need, and partnered with important organizations including the Arctic League, Glove House, Tanglewood, Catholic Charities, Children’s Miracle Network at Arnot Hospital, and Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
Organizations We Support
Apart from our work with the Morrell Family Foundation, STCF also continues to support and participate with local organizations actively involved in serving the Elmira area community including:
- Friends of Chemung River Watershed
- Tanglewood Nature Center
- Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society
- Elmira Downtown Development
- The Elmira Pioneers
- Strong Kids Safe Kids of Chemung County
- United Way of the Southern Tier
- Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA
From donating a custom fabricated kayak rack to the Friends of Chemung River Watershed to sponsoring Kids Karaoke through the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society, our team recognizes the importance of investing locally.
Investing in the Next Generation
STCF believes in investing in the next generation and supporting their interest in essential tradework. We partner with the Greater Southertier BOCES and SUNY Corning Community College to offer paid summer internships for students interested in our industry. Students are partnered with key STCF employees to gain firsthand experience in the custom fabrication work we perform. These internships provide students with valuable skills, knowledge, and experience they can apply to their education requirements and future careers.
